Morris Park homes for sale
The Morris Park neighborhood is located at the most southeastern border of the city of Minneapolis. It is situated adjacent to the Twin Cities Air Force Reserve Base, which is considered one of the neighborhood’s borders. In addition, Morris Park’s other borders include 54th Street, 34th Avenue and 46th Avenue. Morris Park is named after Mar C. Morris, who was the daughter of a one of the first settlers in the region – Franklin Steele. He eventually donated a large parcel of land to the University of Minnesota, making him one of the more popular settlers in the entire area. Morris Park was mainly developed as an official neighborhood because of the streetcar routes that date back to the mid-19th century. Most of the homes throughout the neighborhood were built as single-family residences during the decades spanning from the 1920s until the 1960s. It is part of the greater Nokomis community along with the Nokomis East Neighborhood Association, which also includes the neighborhoods of Minnehaha, Wenonah, and Keewaydin. There are several parks and other recreational opportunities available throughout the Morris Park neighborhood.
